Best Bit Was The End

Watched the Alan Partridge movie on Netflix the other day and I'm sorry to say Steve Coogan won't be sitting in the Oscar audience next year waiting for an statue for that one.

A sadly overstretched TV episode without the fun of Know Me Knowing You (Ah Haaaaa). Sean Pertwee playing his routine by the numbers tough cop/SWAT/Soldier continues to get to look more and more like his dad as he gets older.

But the the best part is right at the end when the music over the closing titles reminded me that I needed to get this;

The Mael Brothers meet Georgio Moroder.

Gabriel Plays it
Lets hear him play it.

Moroder's finest up there with Heart of Glass.

This is the number one song in heaven
Written, of course, by the mightiest hand
All of the angels are sheep in the fold of their master
They always follow the Master and his plan

This is the number one song in heaven
Why are you hearing it now, you ask
Maybe you're closer to here than you imagine
Maybe you're closer to here than you care to be
It's number one, all over heaven
It's number one, all over heaven
It's number one, all over heaven
The number one song all over heaven

If you should die before you wake
If you should die while crossing the street
The song that you'll hear, I guarantee

It's number one, all over heaven
It's number one, all over heaven
It's number one, all over heaven
The number one song all over heaven

The one that's the rage up here in the clouds
Loud as crowd or soft as a doubt
Lyrically weak, but the music's the thing

No video for the extended version alas but isnt that fun anyway.

  2. Apparently the character in question describes his 'occupation' as a 'keyboard evangelist'.
